This white restaurant is located in the countryside but close to Gothenburg. It’s called Råda Säteri and it’s in the municipality of Härryda. If you drive from Landvetter airport to Goteborg (Gothenburg) you can take countryside roads through Mölnlycke, the central part of Härryda. The airport, by the way, is also in the municipality of Härryda. And while driving through Mölnlycke you will see the restaurant from the road.
This is what you see from the road. Not quite an appealing entrance but once you’re inside you will feel you’re welcomed into a house not a restaurant. That must explain the simple entrance door.
What caught my attention when I went upstairs was this picture frame. And guess who in the picture is! That’s right. Albert Einstein was once a guest in this suburb restaurant. Although at the time of Einstein’s visit it was not a restaurant but a manor. I’m not well acquainted with the history of this manor but I understood that it was passed to different owners with a noble status and highly privileged classes.
I knew that the former US President George Bush and his staff had their lunch at the restaurant when they came to Gothenburg, Sweden in the 2001 EU summit.
You will see lake or Rådasjön from the terrace of the restaurant. The entire surrounding is perfect for a walk after meals and when the weather permits you might go swimming.
I was here with my colleagues during one of our staff trips. We had our lunch at the restaurant but before that we did a heck of a walk through entire surrounding and nearby forest and hills. You would probably do, too, when you come to Råda Säteri, the white restaurant in the countryside.
