When something you expect is going to happen the least, the more likely it will happen. My memory has been battling a few minor changes these past few days and things just disappear in my clear mind for a while, only to come back at a little later. It can be a normal part of aging but I refuse to accept the fact that I’m getting older. At least not now. Let me first enjoy the feeling of being young and whatever you might think about being young. And why do I refuse? Because I can still sing the ABC rhyme I learned when I was little. I guess everybody does. Wait, I still remember some poems I learned from elementary school. This proves that my memory is not completely at a loss.
But how did I forget my mittens on the bus while I merely don’t do it. And those were not just mittens I bought for myself. I got them as a birthday present from my friends. I so dislike losing things of great value to me. Especially those given on special occasions. I could hardly believe it happened while I’ve been careful to keep my belongings in sight when I’m on a public transport. This is the first time I ever forgot something on the road. I kept thinking about it for days and thought if I could replace them with new ones. My friends had seen me wearing those mittens so they might have thought I liked what they gave me. And now they’re lost forever. It could have been okey if they would see me wearing them once in a while. But not wearing them suddenly at all is a surprise. It’s not that I wear those mittens to show off for my friends how I value their present, but I do loved them. I liked the soft fabric that’s made of. It’s kind of soft leather in the outside and fleece in the inside. Not those in the pic.
It’s awful cos everytime I wear my gloves in the morning, I keep remembering those lost mittens. Last week, I decided to look in the malls and wished to find similar ones. Fortunately, luck hit me that day cos I did find the exact replica of the mittens – amazingly for half the price! They were on sale so I grabbed a pair at once. On sale items are not usually as brand new as the first out sale but what the heck, they look exactly the same as my lost mittens. I’m glad I’ve found a replacement but yet, I can’t deny the fact that my memory was tested on the day I forgot my so precious mittens.

I believe : A person is as young as he/she thinks.

Hobo, it might be true. I always think I’m younger than my age. 🙂

Oh no. 🙁 I’m so sorry you left your mittens on the bus. I have lost a lot of things as well and I know how you feel, but look on the bright side, at least it’s not something uber expensive like a cellphone or laptop or tons of money right?
Cheer up dear. *hugs*

Oh, my, Rozie, you’re right. I wouldn’t even know how to comfort myself if I lost my mobile or something expensive. Mittens are easy to replace. Thanks, dearie.

Good for you ‘coz you found the exact replica. Good for you because you are not that forgetful, unlike me. Would you believe I forgot to bring Sean’s bag in school? Kaya ayun, bumalik ako sa amin, buti na lang walking distance lang.
Marlene says
Ay, ganun ba? Bakit naman bag pa ni Sean na kelangan niya sa school, hehee!

you’re lucky to find a replica. Hindi sa age yan look at me when I was young I lost my panyo, payong atbp. hindi naman mahal na bagay so laging sigaw ng nanay ko “Kung hindi nakakabit yung iyo nawala mo na rin”.
I make an effort to try check my belongings when I leave oopps teka may nakalimutan ata ako yung susi ko…
