If you happen to be in Gothenburg and you like to have some fun rides in the amusement parks take a ride to Liseberg. It’s so close to the city center that you don’t even need to take a taxi to get there. And summertime is just perfect to scream on the rides that take you up and down and swing you back and forth. I think I’m a little scared to try any of the rides but there are other things to do yet have fun in the park.
The entrance to Liseberg that hubby took when he was at the Gothia Towers right from across Liseberg. Like me, he’s not fascinated about amusement park rides so when he got tired of walking around Liseberg he went for a refreshment at the tower’s bar.
The first time I went to Liseberg was with a friend, who lured me to take the Balder or roller coaster (top, left) and after that I would never take a ride on it again. It scared me to death. But others can have all the fun they want on this roller coaster. The car rides (top, right) mostly for kids; the classic Slänggungan or bout swing (down, left) and the Hanghai (down, right). There’s more.
How about having an adrenaline rush on this SpinRock ride (top, left) and perhaps cooling on the Kållerado (top, right) boat ride. The used-to be Gothenburg Wheel is now Liseberg Wheel or Lisebergshjulet (down, left) that I had taken a ride on before it was moved to Liseberg. And there’s the Lust Garden (down, right) to see around when you get tired of all the rides. Though I have no idea why it bears that name. Maybe the presence of the naked statue in the garden? Hmm.
Those are just some of the rides that I got a chance of taking pics. There are more for both adult and children. Not only that, there are games that could make you win big boxes of chocolates, like my friend did. After a short walk, hubby sat and waited for the restaurant to open. It was a long day at Liseberg. Basically, one day is not enough because there’s a lot more to see and do. Learn more about Liseberg amusement park and how to get there.

Liseberg Amusement Park is the biggest of its kind in all of Scandinavia. This park features a range of mechanical rides both for kids and adults. The park contains both kiddy rides and a roller coaster.

The rest of the year the Liseberg Park is open to patrons looking for either quaint family fun or wild rides on a selection of roller coasters. Patrons looking for a thrill ride at theme parks in Sweden need look no further than the HangOver ride at the Liseberg. Hop on and you’ll be shot almost 200 feet into the air, where for a moment you can experience total weightlessness before plunging back toward the ground. This is considered to be the most incredible rollercoaster ride in all of Europe. Other rides include the Kallerado, which takes guests down a rapid river journey, as well as the Gasten Ghost Hotel, which is a haunted hotel ride.
