A student of mine infected me with cold and it gave me terrible headache and stuffy nose. I’m more susceptible to such illness in the spring than in the winter. It has something to do with pollens from the trees and grass when they start blooming. But I don’t see greens from the trees yet so it’s not likely that I get sick of cold this soon. My student who had been sick during the week was the source of my sickness. Since I know that I easily get sick during this season I take more fluids and fruits.
Speaking of fruits, I’m not really a fruit-eating person. I can live a day without eating a fruit though I have some favorites. The last time I had was a banana and I just realized that I haven’t eaten any citrus fruits in quite a while now. It must be the reason why I got infected or my immune system is becoming weak. We used to squeeze our own orange juice before but I think we became lazy to continue doing it. Citrus fruits are especially good against colds and flu so I’ve known.
But how do I get motivated to eat fruits like oranges, clementines or other vitamin-C-rich fruits? I’m taking food supplements but it seems not enough. To keep colds and flu away with fruits is not easy for a passive fruit consumer like me.

Hello Marlene…
First of all “BIG Sorry” for not being here with you as I get trapped in something more serious concern to my family which is my first prioirity. Hope you understand.
Anyway feel sad by hearing about your sickness too. Just take care and as per what you have shared are best way to remain healthy as this is my personal experience.
I love lot seasonal fruits and used to take daily in my diet and this is one of the main reason that I am miles away from sickness.
Anyway feel good by landing here again. Take care and get well soon, if not.

I think I’m getting used to have your comments here so I wonder when I can’t get any from you. But it’s wonderful to know that you’re keeping your family first as I do the same.

Fruits are definitely hugely beneficial for our body. I make sure to eat some grapes, bananas, an apple, orange or kiwi everyday. It can be difficult to eat regularly but soon you will develop the habit and it will become part of your daily routine to eat some fruits. You can also cut them up and have them with custard for dessert.

Thank you, Jean, for bringing this up. I love custard but I never thought of eating it with fruits. Now I can imagine how the taste of sweet and a tinge of sour from fruits blend.
