I usually check this site as soon as I arrive home from work. It was running good when I opened it as usual, but not until I opened it again in the evening to write a post. How would you feel if you meet this spooky message when you open your site:
Internet Explorer cannot open this site http://sitename.com
Operation aborted!
I remember my blog buddy Shanker Bakshi encountered the same problem in his site and I could still remember he wrote that it could be some javascripts that caused the problem. He, however, could not figure out what caused this to have occured on his site, despite his effort to find solutions to the problem. But he sorted it out, anyway.
True indeed, that some javascripts cause this annoying message. I thought it would be temporary, but it lingered. Everytime I opened this site, that message just popped-up from nowhere. I got panicked, called for hubby’s assistance. He searched for some solutions while I started deactivating plugins and removing widgets with javascripts inserted in it. I was acting like a half-mad cow 😆 Then he has found a page indicating solutions to the problem. It was to add a piece of word to the javascripts, but it didn’t help. Grrrr!!! He asked me to check the javascipts I added to the theme’s header and index files and found out they were all in place.
I knew I couldn’t sleep with this problem, out of desperation, I started deleting a javascript code which I inserted into the header.php file. I then, opened this site and voila!!!, the culprit was gone. That was a heck of a problem. I wonder why the problem arise just now when I’ve had that piece of code for months already. I still have other javascripts in my theme’s files but it doesn’t cause problems. Strange enough.
In addition to probable solutions found regarding this problem, those who are using Firefox are not affected by this. You have the reason to continue browsing sites with Firefox. I also have Firefox installed so I could prove it right. But I feel comfortable with Internet Explorer and don’t ask me why, cos I don’t know exactly why.
This should not be my post today, actually. And I could have replied to comments by now. But due to this unexpected abnormality of my site, I felt compelled to bring out this relatively provoking problem that other site owners may encounter.
Goodnight for now…

I learnt a best way to deal with these problems, and I feel any body that is new to php or javascript or not have a good hand on these must follow this;
My solution goes like;
[1.] Make a simple notepad file
[2.] Name it LOGBOOK
[3.] Every time you do something with your site template or layout you just enter into it. Like for example adding any new Plugins to your site, inserting any new widgets in your sidebar inserting any javascript code into your theme file I mean anything you do just make a entry in it. All right, if you do that you will see a series of actions recorded in your LOGBOOK file and that off course in a sequence.
[4.] Whenever you see such a problem like one explained above then do one thing just start reversing the actions backward and one by one. For example remove last action, Clear your cookies, check again your site, see if the problem exists then move on to remove the next action you did (previous to the last one), refresh your cookies again, and see if the problem still persist
[5.] If you see on removing/reversing any action the things goes absolutely fine then you must under stand this action is culprit and creating problem, remove it permanently and start putting back all the other actions in line as you did before.
[6.] Remember, if you are not very good at php, java, html then you must keep the record of your actions in a LOGBOOK, it helps a lot believe me.
[7.] It will also help you when you need to replace your site theme with absolutely new theme.
[8.] Frequently back your WordPress posts.
Ohh I feel I have written a whole new post here :-), anyway, keep blogging everybody.

I’ve had in the past a few problems accessing some of my blog buddies sites but they eventually came back online, so I guess they must have sorted it out. But it’s good to now these problems exist and at least I can be aware of them in the future.

I think I missed that post of yours, Jessie, as I did less bloghopping last December. Or I just forgot you had it posted. Thank you, fren, for the concern. Yes, that script had slowed down this site, too.
Shanker, I should give you my password next time, haha! Thanks for this very little info, I will try this Logbook, too.
I’ve also encountered this kind of problem when I viewed some sites, Nick, but I didn’t expect it to happen to my site until now.

Marlene, I didn’t notice that problem since I am using Firefox. I hardly use IE.
