One of the schools I work at on Mondays is close to Masthuggskyrkan or Masthugget Church. It’s an old church built in the 1900s, and it is situated on a hill. Although the church itself is worth a visit, the view outside the church makes it popular with tourists and locals. When hubby drives me to work, we always drive up the hill whenever we have enough time. We don’t enter the church; I don’t even know if it’s open in the morning, but we usually park where we can have a view of the city.
Sometimes we only sit in the car enjoying the view, the other times we go out to breathe some fresh air. I would take some pictures now and then. It depends on the weather. I took the image above in early autumn. You could tell how elevated I was taking this picture by the street below.
In winter, we could see the fantastic view of snowcapped rooftops. It’s the one I love the most! Some people come up here to enjoy the view while sipping a cup of coffee or tea. I once took my students here to show them the church and, most importantly, this lookout point of Gothenburg. If you’re in the Gothenburg area, I recommend driving up or taking a bus to Masthugget. You will not be disappointed.
