Early Morning Frost

7 December 2009 By: Marlene27 Comments

I spent the weekend putting up my Advent candles and changing curtains, which I supposed to have done the other weekend.  It was the second Sunday of Advent yesterday so the second candle was lighted.  This is normally the scenario when Advents come – putting up all then keeping them all after Christmas.  It’s quite fun to me because I am getting accustomed to this kind of tradition here.  It seems I cannot let go of Advent without having the four candles and those electrical Advent lights.  Somehow, they make me feel warmer rather than cold knowing that it’s really cold here now.

Speaking of cold,  I took a photo when our car was frosted up one morning.  It was actually midday when I went out for work that day and hubby was to drive me to the tram station when his taxi didn’t start because he left the alcolock unattended at a freezing point.  The taxi car would start only when he blew out safe from alcohol in the alcolock.  But this time the alcolock was totally locked he couldn’t even turn it on.  He was really pissed off for the fact that he was also in a hurry.  He has been pissed off with this alcolock system because he has to do it even if he’s not drinking at all and he never would drive if he does.  But for security measure and reason, this system is definitely good.

Anyhow, we went to our car and found it’s been frost all over.  I couldn’t even open the door.  Hubby managed to open and tried to charge the alcolock.  Unfortunately we couldn’t drive this car that day because the roads were frosty and slippery and we didn’t changed to winter gears.  Not yet, not now according to him since I don’t have a driving licence yet.  Sigh…

Haven’t heard the alcolock thing here in the Philippines. Hm, what’s the color of your car? Let me guess, is it silver/gray? Right? The car looks white only because it was frosted, right?

Anyway, good morning (greetings from the PH). 🙂

Good morning too, Kelvin (though I’m writing this at 10pm here).

Our LTO should look into this alcolock system cos it can prevent drunk driving. It’s silver metallic. 🙂

I heard about the system and I think it put good security on cars. By the way the frosted look make it cool in low light.

The system is really good and I agree with you. The lights turn on automatically as it’s not allowed to drive here with turn off car lights.

      Pradeep and Ruchi,

But there’s a place in India that snow falls. Or maybe it’s far from where you live.

Hindi naman masyadong malamig ang snow kapag + ang temperature, pero kapag minus na ay super, hehee. Haa,san ba ma meet si Frosty the snowman, di ko pa rin siya na meet dito.

Thankfully all the snow are up in the mountains and hasn’t reach the flatlands yet. Oh dear, I thot u already got your license? Anyhoo, one thing that’s annoying during winter is when you have to warm up your car every time you have to drive it every morning. Not helpful when you’re running late he he.

Huhuu, I don’t know when, it’s so darn hard to get a license here. I’m getting impatience already. 🙁

Yes, and it takes more time when it the temperature drops to minus degrees.
