Wok Master Wannabe

10 August 2010 By: Marlene10 Comments

Learning how to cook is never too late for someone who dislikes cooking. If there is a category for women who never cooks, I belong in that. I don’t loathe cooking, nobody does, I think. It’s just that I don’t have the spontaneity and creativity to whip up a dish. I guess it runs in our family that men are better cook than women. My father was a good cook and so are my brothers. My mother is also good at cooking but none of us (girls) got that. I eventually get inspired to cook when I like a dish and it looks easy to prepare it. I go for simple recipes rathen than complicated ones. And I find this wok-ing an easy task to do for a dish. At least for some recipes which ingredients are not hard to find. The restaurants I go sometimes for lunch always have woked something. Woked noodles, woked chicken in chili sause and more.

Woked vegetables and beef

I made woked vegetables with pork a few days ago and hubby kind of like it and said that we should eat vegetables more often. Since he’s a better cook than me, he’s the one who always get the cooking job in our kitchen, lol! But his cooking is more of a gourmet style with focus on veals, tenderloin, pork chop and other sort of meat. Since he likes woked dishes it will be my turn in the kitchen. He hasn’t learned about wok-ing yet. So for now I will try the different kinds of wok dishes whenever we feel like it. And this makes me a wok-master wannabe. Let’s do the wok-in’!

that looks appetizing. I’m not a kitchen goddess too but as long as my hubby knows how to eat, that’s all that matters. 🙂

Not bad, you can learn if you want. Your mom must be a good cook.

Mukhang masarap yan ah! Pwede na, hehe, magaya nga.

My father and his sisters are good cook too.
