The Serious Amateur Photographers

| 11 May 2009 | 22 Comments

I’ve been grumbling about how discontented I am with handy digital cameras that don’t help much in my pursuit of photography.  Those small digicams at stores are no longer tempting to my eyes.  I thought I won’t need a small digicam if I want to take photography to a higher level.  Instead, I looked for a system camera, which I absolutely have no knowledge about what it is.  All I know is that it’s extremely larger and heavier than other cameras and it’s what real photographers use.  Anyway, as hubby is as obsessed as I am when it comes to photography, he was the one searching and comparing a number of system cameras around.  And after a thorough consideration of specs and prices,  he came off with two alternatives.  That Sony DSLR is way too expensive so it’s crossed out in the list.  The choice was between these two competing models – Nikon D90 and Canon EOS 50D. The former with 12 megapixels while the latter with 15 megapixels.  The only spec I know of a camera, lol!  And finally, according to hubby, the sales agent and online reviews, the one that’s worth the money is…

Nikon D90
Nikon D90

Hubby and I are becoming serious amateur photographers since we purchased it two weeks ago.  He’s been reading and exploring tutorials online while I do crash course with him afterwards.  Photography begins.

I am considering, eventually to make profit with photography, but my budget for now is restricted. Do you think I can start in the photography business with a D70. Which other SLR cameras that can be affordable should I consider?
