The Change I Needed

I couldn’t think of sidebar contents to fill in the spaces left after my adsense was disabled.  I needed to change my theme since those spaces were customized primarily for adsense in my previous theme.  My apology to Amor dear for such a short time I used the theme.  I didn’t want to modify the theme any further just to make sure that no adsense code was left on my blog.  Maybe when I have enough time I will try to modify it, especially the “single page” because it was there the big blank space was.  Anyhow, I liked how her theme worked on my blog and I never thought I had to change it this soon.

It was one decision that led to another, actually.  After modifying this theme I thought I might as well upgrade my WordPress from 2.8.4 to version 2.9.  It wasn’t my plan to upgrade yet because I find the backing-up of database so tedious.  But hubby has found a way to back-up through our web host (GoDaddy) account.  It was faster than I thought and I’m happy about the successful upgrade, no problems, whatsoever.

This is the theme I found attractive to me and this is actually the second theme I’ve been using from same author.  The Cloisters have designed several WordPress Themes.  I’ve always checked the site for new themes because everytime it comes up a new one, it’s always different from the previous ones, though not all themes might everybody like but they are created with various designs.  In fact, I am using another theme from Cloisters on my Digiscrapping site (not updated regularly though).  I assure you that this theme is not a modification of that theme because of their different designs.

This is the original color of the theme but hubby thought it looked melancholic and asked me to change the color into something alive (and kicking, lol!). And green and brown were the only colors I could come up with. I got those colors from my previous themes I modified a long time ago. After trying the brown-light brown scheme, still he thought it a bit boring. So I ended up with green, the same green I had about two years ago. I’m not completely done adding all the pages but I’m doing it one step at a time. Honestly, this is not what I should be doing on my holidays.

My WP Theme By Amor

I am overwhelmed and proud to have this new theme on my blog, especially that it’s created for me by my long-time online friend, Amor. Perhaps we share the same hobby-net surfing, which drew us to find each other’s site. That was before we started to get engaged in blogging. Four or five years ago, I discovered her site on a community site I can’t remember anymore. I was impressed about her design and signed her guestbook the first time I visited her website.  Since then we started to visit each other’s site though the only contact we could do was through our guestbook.

Our entry to blogging has given way to a more engaging contact.  She’s even the first person in the blogsphere who tagged me way before I knew what it was all about.  You see, friendship is just a net away for us.  Now, before I get dramatic and plunge you into tears while reading this post, let me instead tell you about this theme.  It has been her desire to create a Wordpress Theme for public download.  Although she created her theme on her blog a long time ago, it’s only now that she created one for others, well, for me to start of.  I’ve told her I’d love to use her theme someday.  And here it is!  Soon she will be publishing themes for public download, perhaps on her new site which she calls her wordpress theme playground.

I did not do much of this theme, unlike my previous themes, because she already placed all what I had on my sidebars including the adsense.  This theme spoon-fed me which gave me less work and all.  And I couldn’t thank enough Amor for doing this to me.  Paano ba kita mapapasalamatan?  Hahaaa! Kanta nga yun, ano.

Let’s Go Green!

I’m trying to go with the colors of summer although the weather up here remains somewhat gloomy and gray.  I still can’t wear short-sleeved blouses and skirts out in the chilly air.  What a weather!  But the sight of trees with dense green leaves makes me feel like the summer weather is coming anytime now.   The day is getting longer and night shorter and I can’t sleep in during these days though I sleep late at nights.  With the greens I see everyday I got an idea which color I should change this site to.  For those who know me, I am not the one who sticks to one and same color for my site.  I even change themes many times in a year.  This time I haven’t had any intention to do this except changing the colors.

This Pink Orchid theme has just turned green.  But is there a green orchid?  I haven’t seen any yet, though yesterday I saw one seemed to be a yellow-green orchid at the store.  I don’t know so much about orchids.  Anyhow, I just hope the author of this theme will not hate me for changing pink to green.  I like this theme but pardon me for modifying the colors.  I want to just extend a summer feeling to this site with the fresh colors of green and yellow.

The Sidebar
You may have noticed those 125×125 widget.  Those are not ads but those are the sites of my Top Commentator,  Top EC dropper and who knows more Tops coming soon.  Those are for the month of May so the widgets may change  monthly.  But I want to discourage those commercial sites for racing up into my top commentators list.  There is no way I will place a widget for your site here ( unless you pay me, hahaa! Kidding!).  Commercial sites or non-blog sites will be delinked.  This is a blog so I give links-with- love to other blogs only.
