Summer In Karlskrona

Oh, no, I’m not in Karlskrona now but in the summer of last year. This is what hubby and I do for a staycation, driving around Sweden, follow where the sun shines the best. Karlskrona is in the south of Sweden and it’s listed in one of Unesco’s World Heritage Sites. I personally like the lively ambiance of the city and their friendly gesture to visitors.

The presence of water is always right in summertime. We took a long, morning walk around the place and we admired the beautiful blooms on the streets.

We stayed in a hotel by the waterside so we could feel the breeze when we sat and dine at the restaurant while enjoying the view across the island.

love to be in Karlskrona

I’m glad to have been in Karlskrona and learned about its peculiar attractions. Though we have not seen all the things the city has to offer, breathing fresh air and feeling the breeze of the sea made our summer vacation a pleasant one.

What Can You See?

What can you see in the middle of the sea? Answer: E. I am not sure if it is a riddle but I remember playing with words when I was in school. And that question is one of those which answer is hidden in one of the words in the question. Forget about riddles cos it’s not what this post is all about. I’m just trying to say that we’re back from an anticipated vacation. We tried cruising this time from the southeastern part of Sweden to a city in Poland called Gdynia. I never heard of this city before. I thought a cruise would be exciting cos just the thought of it was exhilarating. We were cruising for ten and a half hours back and forth. The ship has fine restaurants and bars, slot machines and games, shopping, cozy rooms, free internet and a lot more. But seeing nothing in the outside but water was a dull sight.

There was nothing we could do but eat and sleep and eat and sleep. I won’t say I don’t like cruising again but I wouldn’t want it to be done back and forth. One way could be much better and stay on land for a couple of days and onboard the ship again back home. Good thing that hubby booked a room where we could stay undisturbed and watch tv in our own room. Otherwise it could be more crowded and loud in the cabins.

Wish Upon A Star

Will you be ready with your wish if you see a falling star or shooting star? I don’t know but I might stammer if I see one. I haven’ seen a shooting star in my entire life. I don’t think I would be able to see any at all when I can’t even get to see stars over me now that it barely gets dark in my place. I had taken a number of photographs of the dark winter sky but even then the stars seemed invisible. There is, on the other hand, another kind of star that’s not invisible and maybe wish-able, too. I am not really sure if wishing upon a falling star could make your wish come true. So take a shot on this and may your wish come true. Only this time, don’t look up, but look down. Are you ready?

And make a wish!

I’m just making fun of this lovely view at the Raffles Plaza Complex in Singapore. It was taken on different occasions as I wasn’t quick enough to get a perfect timing to shoot when the star would appear. The star’s still not perfect, is it? Wish me luck next time.
