It’s In The Air
What’s in a ber-month?
I’m not talking about beer-drinking months but I’m referring to months ending in “ber”. It’s in these months that I get homesick not because of the degrading weather temperature but the spirit of Christmas is in the air this soon in the Philippines. The chilly, gust of wind seems to remind everyone that Christmas is drawing near. And what’s there to expect is the celebration of gifts and food. This is what I miss a lot. I miss it when a colleague or friend or a relative will jokingly ask for expensive gifts like HTC Phones or other techno-gadgets.
Here’s nothing but an expectation of rains in fall and gloomy winter seasons. No one’s gonna greet you “God Jul” in advance, and if you do, they would stare at you in awe. But wait till the end of November when the city lights and Christmas trees decorate the streets. That late and that short a celebration. But what can I say; this is not like the Philippines. I have no one to joke around for a HTC S740. And if there’s one person I can ask for my wish gift then it’s hubby, but I’m not sure if he will grant my wish of owning a HTC Touch Pro, hehehe!
When Christmas is in the air, so is the spirit of giving. And speaking of this, I have received an early gift while waiting for a tram on my way home a week ago. Somebody handed me two envelopes with something inside that I thought it’s just a leaflet invitation or something, but when I read what’s inside the envelope, guess what – each contains a sim card from a phone network! Isn’t that a surprise gift. Now I really need someone to ask for a HTC Sim Free Phones. I have a lucky first ‘ber’ month, eh? However, despite those free sim cards handed to me, I still miss the Philippines in ber-times like now.

Touch Phone From HTC
There’s one thing I like the most when I am out working – the pleasure of going to malls between free periods or before going home and window shopping. One of my favorite is the mobile stores where displays of different phones are absolutely enticing. The other day, I thought of checking out the new iPhone 3G as I’ve not seen nor touched it yet. But seemed they don’t put it on display and I didn’t have intention to buy so I did not bother to ask for a preview of the phone. I looked on the display of phones, touching every piece that attracts me, reading its specs or something. Until my attention stopped completely to the sight of a phone which name is unfamiliar to me. I know 4 or 5 names of phones, mostly those familiar and widely used ones. So I held the somewhat slim and sexy phone named HTC Touch Diamond. It’s a touch phone that everybody would want to touch. And the specs are tempting, too.
