A Headache is such a Headache

headache emoticon from Microsoft ClipartThis unpleasant moment when headaches attack without cautions. If only I knew when it would come I would make a shield against it. Worse is when it stays for days and no aspirin can take it away. I’ve had this headache since yesterday, thought I caught colds but I found out later that I didn’t. It was just plain headache that seems to like my head, seeking comfort while it’s giving me uncomfort. It was gone this morning but I felt it again after breakfast. I took an aspirin and lay in bed hoping it would go away when I’d wake up. But I couldn’t sleep either because of the bothering pain. It wasn’t severe though, so I just let it through. I still have a headache now but it’s tolerable.

I suspected it was caused by a bad air passage in the classroom yesterday when it suddenly got sunny outside. I should have opened a window at least. In an hour or so, I could feel the headache but I tried to ignore it. Driving home was so uneasy but glad I made it.

One annoying consequence of a headache is destructing a plan or routine. I had plans for this day but those were left undone. I should have done already my weekend cleaning but even this was kept on hold. Anyhow, tomorrow might be a no-headache day, hopefully. I may not be able to do all my plans but I will be happy if the headache is gone.

When Darkness Is Over

sleepy emoticonI always have a hard time adjusting to sunlight and longer days after winter. Though the weather doesn’t show a sign of spring on the way yet, I no longer leave and come home in the dark. It feels good but it also makes me tired at the end of the day. These past few days have been a struggle and therefore I could hardly update this blog. Yesterday was probably the worst cos I felt so tired and sleepy after dinner. I tried to ignore it by watching tv but it seemed hard to get away with sleepiness. Geez, it wasn’t even 9:00 PM when I succumbed to sleep. My being a night person didn’t work in the past few days. But I know it’s a minor problem of adjustment; it will be over in a matter of days.

A Breakfast So Heavy

“A simple enough pleasure, surely, to have breakfast alone with one’s husband, but how seldom married people in the midst of life achieve it.”  ~ Anne Morrow Lindbergh

That quote of Anne Morrow Lindbergh struck me like a knife because somehow it’s true. I could have many breakfast alone with my hubby since we don’t have kids to join us at the breakfast table in the morning. Unfortunately, the only time we could eat breakfast together is on the weekends. There are so many reasons why married people can’t take a good meal together in the morning. In our case, it’s the job that’s impeding us from having our morning meals. He always starts earlier than me so I’m always left alone with my bread and tea. Having breakfast all by yourself is quite boring, actually. But sometimes we have to face it with good appetite, otherwise, we can’t last the day.

I am glad, however, that we can always have breakfast together on the weekends. Sometimes we prepare something heavy and skip lunch, like this one…

heavy breakfast with egg, bacon and potato

heavy breakfast with egg, bacon and potato

This is my favorite breakfast meal that I sometimes ask hubby to prepare since he is the master cook. Fried potato, bacon and fried egg (sunny side up) – this is so heavy for a breakfast and I love it. I would definitely have a good start of the day if I could have it for breakfast before going to work. So would hubby.
