When Gifts Are Hard To Find
Why can’t we let Christmas pass without thinking of some gifts to give to our loved ones. It’s absurd to think that the world is in crisis and many have lost their jobs because of this, yet people rush to the malls and stores hunting for gifts. Blame those Three Kings who brought gifts for Jesus, they had passed on such stupendous deed for centuries now that people are having a hard time getting away with it. Well, I can’t complain much cos I, myself, advocate this manner of giving this Holiday seasons.
I’m out for work almost all the time so I have seen how jampacked malls and stalls are. And this is what I don’t like, being in the midst of a crowd jostling to grab whatever seems to be a perfect gift. Quite frankly, I haven’t done the shopping yet and I know I’m not alone to be the last-minute buyer (as I’ve read on some blogs out there). The worse is, I don’t even know what gifts to buy. Soon I’ll be off work for Christmas holidays but it will be too late then to rush for gifts. My option would be to resort to online shopping though to avoid stress.
My student was talking about a PSP or something which I didn’t have any clue what it was. He said his mother would be giving him this handheld toy or whatever come Christmas. It seems we can’t surprise the kids nowadays as they are more happier to tell and get what they want. I haven’t talked to my nephews in Davao yet, so it will be a surprise if I send them a Nintendo or PSP, whatever. I don’t even know if they already have this. Sometimes it’s good that kids tell what they want for a gift. Perhaps giving them money is not bad at all and spend it for something they fancy. That way, I’d be totally free from buying, wrapping and sending.
