While I was cutting hubby’s hair a few hours ago, I asked him if he remembered the last time we went to the film festival where our friend’s film was nominated. He couldn’t recall it but he recalled we were given an identification card to vouch that we were guests to the film festival. Surprisingly, I found the id’s kept in a plastic container among expired cards. Now I can say that it was three years ago when we had that rare opportunity to be in a film festival. It was an awesome experience mingling with people working with films. I would love to go to the same event again.

Incidentally, there seems to be a chance for me and for everyone who likes to see films in a film festival. The Sun Valley Spiritual Film Festival on September 18-20 will be showing films we don’t normally see in movie theatres. Since the Sun Valley Spiritual Film Festival is a celebration of human spirituality through films, its mission is to:

Present films that explore spiritual traditions from around the world, as well as films that cherish the human spirit.

Encourage the production of new films and documentaries, by providing an event in which these films can be screened.

Promote discussion among recognized leaders in the fields of arts and spirituality, by presenting interactive discussion panels.

Offer the public an opportunity to engage with film-makers and spiritual leaders.

Enhance the public’s understanding of, and respect for, diverse spiritual traditions from around the world.

It will be a glorifying moment meeting the spiritual leaders around the world. You probably know some of them like Jim Walsh, who is going to present his film, “Cracking The Cosmic Egg” on September 20th at 2:00PM. His film is a presentation to an exciting new frontier where science and spirituality combine to improve the human condition. It may not known to you but Jim Walsh brings to HESA (Human Energy Systems Alliance) his extensive knowledge of nutrition and science and his entrepreneurial skills to the unique challenge of unlocking the mysteries of the Human Energy System.

Furthermore, Jim Walsh is considered one of the world’s leading experts on food, and he is widely published and quoted in newspapers, journals, TV and radio. Walsh also serves as Chairman of the Board of Hawaiian Vintage Chocolate since 1992 and Intentional Chocolate since 2007. If you ever want chocolates that help decrease stress and increase energy, help enhace focus and achieve greater calmness, try some intentional chocolate, and for this, I would recommend the Intentional Chocolate Raspberry Hearts.

Jim Walsh serves on the Advisory Boards of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Spirituality and Wellness At The Chicago Theological Seminary and the Center for Creating Healthy Minds at the University of Wisconsin. He is a member and co-founder of the Badger Angel Capital Network (BACN) assisting the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation and the University of Wisconsin in technology transfer and business start-ups. Walsh’s involvements are dedicated to the single objective of creating products that nourish both body and spirit to improve the quality of life for all beings. As for the Intentional Chocolate, his intention is to reintroduce the ancient of wisdom of embedding conscious intention and love into food.

The film we watched on the film festival then was a documentary film. Jim Walsh’s film, “Cracking The Cosmic Egg” sounds interesting to me. The video shows the kind of films we get to see on the Sun Valley Spiritual Film Festival.

I’ve had a seemingly busy weekend that almost left me indecisive. There’s one thing I couldn’t leave out though, which is my meeting with friends on the last Saturday of evey month. It’s a fixed plan that my friends and me are tied up to follow, otherwise we couldn’t find a space in our almanac due to work and other priorities. We did meet yesterday and had lunch in an Indie restaurant. That went fine though the weather wasn’t. We headed home earlier than usual that made hubby wonder. I said it was too much crown in the city and the air was chilly. But I actually had so many thoughts in my mind, like finalizing my class schedule and other demands of work. There’s also the novel I was reading that kept me still and sitting, thank heavens I was done reading it this morning.

The best part of the weekend is when hubby and I sit and watch films after dinner. When nothing is good on the TV, we opt to watch dvd films instead, sometimes make turns to choose which one fits the mood of the night. Last night, I didn’t have any intention to watch long films so that I could have time for my schedule and a little blogging. Then I couldn’t decide which one to pull from the shelf. Not until hubby proposed the Godfather when I realized I was standing in front of the shelf, stoned and undecided. Aye, that film is quite long so I lingered a little more, trying to run my eyes left and right. In the end, grabbed the film and inserted the disk in the player. It wasn’t long when we finally sat quietly with hot drinks and cookies on the coffee table. It’s been quite sometime when I last saw the film and it’s only this time that I completely understand the story behind it. We started to watch the part 2 of the film tonight but didn’t finish it because it was getting late and I had to do my schedule, which unfortunately until this time I hadn’t done yet. Blame it on The Godfather! I was tired during the day I went to take a nap after doing some house chores. Since The Godfather is a trilogy, I have nothing to expect to watch the next weekend but the last of the series.

I must be one of the few who missed this TV-sitcom on Alf in the late 80′s. Alf, as what his earth family calls him, started the first season in 1986, to be exact, until 1990. I was then in my high school years and I don’t remember which soap opera I used to watch. All I can remember was the People Power that ousted the former president, lol! Those four years were kind of blur to me when it comes to soap opera or sitcoms. But I do remember I used to watch Little House on the Prairie when I was little.

And how did Alf get into my evening pass time? Hubby is the mastermind of this plot, when he purchased online the four-season-dvd of Alf. He said he’d watched the sitcom before but missed some episodes on the final season. I have no choice but to welcome this hilarious character steal my time in the evening in front of the big monitor now that it’s summer holiday. No problem! I’m actually loving every episode of Alf and his ludicrous one-liners. It’s one tv-sitcom to watch when I want to set my brain in stand-by mode (if only we can do this), think nothing but watch and laugh on this so-called bubbly alien life form, hah! hah!… Oh, I kill me!
