Summer Hangout At The Berlin Cathedral

28 June 2012 By: Marlene5 Comments

I’m basically not used to seeing people hangout just outside a church. It’s rather not possible in my hometown for some reasons. But when I saw some churches here with green grass surroundings I figured it could have been possible to hangout at a church in my hometown.

On our travel to Berlin we didn’t want to miss the mighty structure of the Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom). It was summertime so it’s normal to see people gather outside the cathedral and perhaps having a good time with the summer heat. People sat while others lay on the grass. They could as well gaze at the Berlin Cathedral while in that position.

The people at the Berlin Cathedral

The impressive structure of the Berlin Cathedral as seen from the lawn. It is the biggest church in the city of Berlin and it attracts both locals and tourists. The cathedral offers viewing tour with an audio guide for a fee. A maintenance fee of €3 is necessary aside from the admission fee (€7).

And why not have the Berlin Cathedral in the background while you’re standing at the bridge where the sightseeing boats pass under it. It looks great to see the other side of the cathedral as enormous as the front side.

The Berlin Cathedral by the bridge

We took a walk under the bridge where the sightseeing boats load and unload people. And we could see that the cathedral still looked so huge from there.

Hubby was smiling big but the cathedral was also big that he almost didn’t get in the picture. I did take a photo of the cathedral with just his head because I tried to get the whole structure. Funny, eh?

Me and the Berlin Cathedral

But when he was the one taking pictures of me he wouldn’t mind not taking the whole background even the magnificent Berlin Cathedral. Lol!

    Hi,

I don’t see ppl spending time outside the cathedral in my country too due to the fact that the weather is extremely hot in Malaysia, unlike in Berlin. For the Berlin ppl, they are looking forward to summer. But we don’t.

p/s: This is the first time i see your husband.

I can understand that, Willie. Not in my hometown, Davao, too.
Hahaa! That’s my b-f-g hubby. Secret!
