A strange but familiar smell stuck in my nose when I opened the fridge. It seemed to be some left-over I forgot for quite some time. I checked everything in the fridge but I couldn’t figure out where this yucky smell came from. I almost couldn’t stand opening my fridge because of it. I do have plenty of left-overs sometimes but it never happened to the extent of anything got rotten and smelled like a dead mice has been buried inside the ref. What a terrible smell! I looked in the pantry to see if there was something there that caused the smell. Nothing. I let it passed and I thought I should clean the fridge on a weekend instead.
Hubby loves to eat bread and cheese while watching TV. His midnight snacks will be bread and cheese, too. I don’t know what’s with all the cheese he eats but I don’t find any of them to be appealing or appetizing. Sometimes the cheese looks very old because of the moulds. Oh, yes, he eats moulds on cheese, haha! So when we sat watching a film, he was as usual having his cheese and bread. Surprisingly, the same smell I sniffed in the fridge was now in the living room. Whoahh! It’s the kind of cheese he bought that time. He’s had different kinds of cheese but this one really could ruin a cosy evening of films like Sleepless in Seatle or Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Huhh!
Now I can say we’re even because he doesn’t like the smell of durian which I like a lot, and I don’t like the smell of this cheese. So we’re even, hahaa! The thing is that when I’m in Davao and I want to eat durian, he can go somewhere and leave me alone just so he can avoid the smell. But here when he eats his smelly cheese, I can’t go anywhere to avoid the smell. I wouldn’t stay in the terrace especially now that’s cold, brrr! I’m stuck on his smelly French tradition cheese. Yucky!

Hello Marlene,
So you did not find the cause of the smell? I hope you will be able to get rid of the bad odour this weekend. Good luck in your search and destroy mission. Hahaha.
Geee…your husband likes to eat cheese and bread while watching Tv? And he eats at midnight? Oh my goodnes! What is his weight? He better exercise Marlene…hahaha we do not want another couch potato. Hahahaha
Well…in terms of smell, I like the smell of cheese and durians. But i wouldn’t want to be confined in a room with them, because inhaling them too long or too much will make me sick. Don’t you agree Marlene? Hehehe…
Anyway, cheese products in Malaysia is expensive. Probably because all our cheese are imported. We do not produced cheese, i think so….
Alright, have a good day my friend.

Not until hubby took the cheese from the fridge brought it to the living room. His weight is heavy, hahaa! Wait till you see him in person.
You try to smell some moldy cheese and see if you like it cos I prefer durian’s smell than this cheese’s.

I love cheese but i dont like it when it has molds… But i guess in Europe there are cheese that are being pasturized by molds or something like that, just saw some scenes in discovery channel… hope that those molds are not salmonella and E. Coli… They are not safe to eat… 🙂

You’re right, there’s a lot of pasteurized cheese here and a lot of moldy cheese, too that the local people love to eat. Yay, I don’t think it’s salmonella otherwise hubby get sick of it, but thank God, he’s fine. 🙂

That’s terrible but not horrible. Terrible because you face the smell and not horrible because you have courage enough to face it. :)Don’t worry I am not forgetting the cold but I think you have other space to run away but you face it. That’s good.

I dare not! Hahaa! Just by looking at it plus the smell make me go away from it.
Amor says
I wonder where I saw a cheese being pasteurized by molds, maybe in Lifestyle Network. The more molds, the tastier it gets daw. I don’t know if I have the guts to taste it if ever, pero if they would guarantee ‘I would forget my name’ once I taste it, I guess I’ll give it a try, hehe.

That’s true, it tastes better when it’s moldy. Honestly, I haven’t tasted any of it. I can eat cheese without moulds and with mild taste only. Kahit nga nakikita ko araw-araw ito ay wala pa rin akong guts na tikman. 🙂
dlysen says
I love durian too, be careful not to trap the cheese between your teeth and gums. It produce very bad odor. Sometime lets try to put durian and that moldy cheese in the table for a dinner.

I won’t have cheese between my teeth cos I don’t like it, hahaa. But with cheese and durian on the table? I go for durian for sure.
