Some Kind Of Allergic Reactions

13 May 2008 By: Marlene14 Comments

I’ve had this “all things bright and beautiful” feeling when I see the “green, green grass (of hope)” sprouting on the grounds and when I see some flowers blooming in different colors. It’s also appealing to see the leaves of the trees become dense each day, confirming that the warm season is here to stay. This beauty of nature, however I appreciate it, gives me some kind of allergic reactions. The more I expose myself to the nature, the worse the allergy becomes.

I can’t recall having some allergic reactions when I was little and I thought I never would have. But this is probably the change of environment that I’ve undergone, especially moving from a tropical climate to seasonal. I’ve learned about having allergic reactions for the past two years, but it was so mild that I took it for granted.

But these past few days, I’ve had headache from time to time, sometimes it lasts the whole day. I wake up in the morning with a headache. Now, I got running nose, too and a cough that worsens everyday. I think I need to see a doctor to determine the condition of these kind of symptoms.

Cautious of what these reactions might be, I looked for symptoms of allergies and I’ve found out that allergies are an overreaction of the body’s natural defense system that helps fight infections, thus causing a rash, itchy eyes, a runny nose, difficulty breathing, nausea, and diarrhea. This explains why I felt nauseous last friday, hmmp! Although I haven’t noticed rash, not even having diarrhea, it’s still best to see a health professional to get the right medicine.

I remember my Indonesian friend who has developed an allergy to lemon which causes her lips to swell whenever she eats one or food that contains lemon. Having food allergies must be the hardest one to fight. Imagine not to eat the food I want, it’s crazy, I hope I wouldn’t get this type of allergy. 🙂

I have an allergy to eating prawns. The moment I touch the stuff, my throat starts to itch and swell! Besides that the only other allergy I have is for work, but then I can’t get away with that one … LOL!

Nick, I’m glad I’m not allergic to prawns, or I’ll miss the so called prawn-party here, hehee…. I’ve known many who have an allergy to prawns, some have a hard time dealing with it. I’m afraid there’s no medication for work allergy so one should fight with it himself, hehee.

Bojoy, I’ve never known anyone who has allergies to many things. Usually, isang bagay lang ang na-allergy ng marami. Ang sarap pa naman ng mga binanggit mo. 🙁 It must be hard to avoid eating those foods.

Hubby’s nephew is allergic to eating prawns too. Pero wag ka, super takaw nun kaya kahit may allergy na ayaw pa ring tumigil sa pagkain nun kung hindi pa pagagalitan… kulit!

Ehee, eto na naman isang may allergy sa prawns. Wonder what’s in prawns that make some people allergic to it. Ganun nga, kung ako rin ang nasa lugar ng nephew ng hubby mo, di bale nang allergy, makakain lang ng prawns, hahaa…

I’m not allergic to any type of food, but my nose just reacts so badly to dust and pollen.

The world is changing environmentally and they say that it is a core reason why so many people are getting sick. It seems to be going around one way or another. Everybody seems to be getting ill lately.

I hope you get well soon tho! *hugs* Take care.

      Rozella, thanks…
It’s either the environment that’s getting worse or the body’s immune system is weak. But I really feel the need to see a physician sooner or later. Hope it’s nothing serious.

    Mhy,

As a nursing researcher, our bodies’ different allergic reactions to different stimuli is not fully understood by science. Maybe this is one of the many reasons why we, humans, are unique from each other. Personally, ang allergy ko lumalabas pag wala akong pera. lol!
