The So-French Sofitel Munich Bayerpost Hotel

26 June 2014 By: Marlenecomment

We did not intend to book at this hotel because we wanted to stay in a hotel which name has already known to us. Unfortunately, the hotel we had in mind was fully-booked for the holiday season. We preferred a hotel that’s in the city centre of Munich so that we could avoid taking a taxi to go around. And we found Sofitel Munich Bayerpost hotel. It’s close to central station or hauptbahnhof and just across the hotel we tried to book first.

Sofitel Munich

Because of the hotel’s convenient location we gladly took a tram instead of a taxi to visit some place like Nymphenburg Palace and Park. It was a holiday season so the outside of the hotel was embellished with decorative lights but inside it’s beautifully artistic with less fancy holiday season decors.

The lobby looks quite grand with a display of art. It’s hard to imagine that it used to be a post office building. Once inside we immediately felt it’s luxury and warm ambiance.

Sofitel Hotel Eiffel Tower

This is why I called it so french. The replica of the Eiffel Tower is on display at the lobby and decorated with macarons as glistening lights.

There’s nothing to complain about the room we got and we had everything we needed. It’s simply decorated yet it gave us a feeling of comfort and freshness.

We did not take a photo of the entire hotel and other facilities they have – spa, steam rooms, restaurants, bar among other amenities. Our stay at Sofitel Munich Bayerpost hotel made us to consider staying in other Sofitel hotels on our next travel.
