Renaissance Living in Torpa Stenhus

| 11 October 2012 | 2 Comments

This old renaissance castle has a lot of stories to tell about living in the old times. The things inside reveal the kind of life the people who had lived in this so called stenhus (stone house). Visiting the castle gave me creeps but at the same time I was impressed by the interior structures and the preserved antiques that decorate the house.

This looks like the seats of the man and wife of the house.

The Queen's seat?

I did try to sit on one of the seats. Do I look scared?

This must be part of the kitchen.

Huge pot - Torpa stenhus

This reminds me of the Filipino film, Halimaw sa Banga (Monster in the Pot). I didn’t dare look inside.

This is how the exterior of the castle looks like. It stands by the lake Åsunden in the west of Sweden.
