Forgotten Leftover Lasagna

17 October 2011 By: Marlene10 Comments

I’m trying so hard not to forget leftovers but I think I’m not good at it. Everytime I keep food in the refrigerator hubby tells me that I’m keeping it just to throw later. He knows very well what will happen to leftovers I save. But I’m still trying to do something about it. Though I must say I don’t like to eat leftovers. And believe me, my conscience bothers me whenever I throw food, to think that there are some people in all corners of the world who don’t have anything or have very little to eat.

This is what happened to the Lasagna (Lasagne) leftover I kept aside for later. Instead, it produced molds and ready to be disposed of. Hubby baked this because I requested him to. We both like Lasagna but this time we couldn’t eat it up and forgot it until it got molds. Too bad!

How can we ever avoid doing the same mistake over and over. Seems hard, I think.

Aw, too bad you can’t recycle or re heat it anymore. Did you or your hubby baked too much for your and his consumption?

By the way, its me Ron. Back into commenting and blogging.

Welcome back, Ron. It’s been quite a while.

It can never be too much when hubby bakes Lasagna but this time we forgot to keep it in the ref. Food gets old and moldy faster in warm places than in the cold.

That’s what I’ve been thinking about, too. Food should not be wasted.

I know how you feel Marlene, I too am not a big fan of eating the left over food but I do feel bad to waste the food. I did leave some pasta that I had made out for too long in storage, and I am pretty sure thats what resulted in me getting sick, had to go to the hospital. How did I get sick? I believe it was when I attempted to clean the container that had alot of moldy pasta in it and because there was no ventilation in the house (winter time – closed windows) I suppose the moldy fumes got to me. I was using hot water to clean the dish. So you can imagine.

Looking forward to reading more of your blog posts here!

    Till then,

    Jean

Is that so, Jean. Thanks for sharing your experience, now I’m being cautioned. It must be true that we get sick of moldy foods cos I do get nauseous when I open our sink cupboard where we keep old foods for disposal, especially when it’s been there for days. Though I try to avoid this now.

It has always been my problem. I’m so forgetful kasi, ang daming natitirang food sa ref, minsan hindi na nakakain lalo na kapag lagi kaming nasa labas. I try to avoid throwing foods, kung hindi pa naman sira at pde pang kainin ibinibigay ko na lang sa aso. Choosy aso namin ayaw ng dog food gusto left over talaga hehe.

Ibig sabihin, healthy and strong din ang dog nyo, hahaa! I remember when I was a kid na wala pang ref, ubos palagi pagkain namin kasi nagagalit si Lola kapag maraming sobra. Mabuti pa nga siguro walang ref.

Watching this picture is nothing but the heartbreaking situation for me, a big lasagna lover 🙁

I just can not write anything more 🙁

    Cheers.
