Food Trip In The Countryside of Sweden

28 December 2014 By: Marlenecomment

The year is about to end but I haven’t been able to write about all the trips we had this year. It doesn’t matter though how late we tell the world about our travels the memories we keep are always fresh and lasting. Anyway, I wrote about our road trip in the countryside and part of that trip or rather, most of that trip was all about food. Well, of course, aside from sightseeing. Anywherewhere we ate and dined the food was equally enticing and palate-satisfying.

food-strängnäs-1 We all know that travelling is not only learning about the people and places but it’s also a chance to learn about food culture. But I am not about to discuss it here because for now it’s just about the food here in Sweden.

foodcollagesträngnäs This is what we got when we stayed at a hotel in Strängnäs and its restaurant had a variety of foods to offer – from starters to main courses to desserts.

foodcollagebåstad This one’s in Båstad. Oh, how I loved my starter (left, far top)! The taste reminded of a common snack food we have in the Philippines called ‘siopao’.

foodcollagemölle While in Mölle, we dined in a restaurant with a view of the harbour. I must admit that was the first time we’re being served a starter on a plank. I thought I could only have it with planked steak.

food-falkenberg-strandhotellet From the same place we had that tasty beef patties and mashed potato in Falkenberg. This succulent steak was worth a stop. It’s one of the country places we want to visit again and again.

That’s rounding-up our food trip in the countryside of Sweden for this year. We look forward to more of this kind of a trip next year.
