Your Domain And Web Host In One Site

20 January 2010 By: Marlene15 Comments

Choosing a good domain can’t be so complicated as choosing the right web host.  Since hubby and I decided to have our family name as the domain name for this site and had it registered, it took a while before we found a web host that we thought was good enough to host this site.  That time, there were only a couple of web hosts to choose from, but the rise of many web hosts nowadays can be alluring to move from one to another.  And having a domain and web host in one site (or place) is the most convenient way to manage your account.

Almost everyone is blogging these days, either for business purposes or for personal use. So, if you don’t have a blog but dream to have one, you probably thought it’s hard. Well, not really. It only seems to be when you try to think about getting it so perfectly designed or wanted it to be the best blog among millions or billions of other blogs. Of course, it’s not impossible, but if you are just new to blogging, its best to take things one step at a time.

Before you actually get to set up your own blog, first you have to choose a domain and a web host to host your site. A web host is the one responsible putting your site online and keep it up and running. If you are looking for a free service, there are many free web hosts to choose from.  If you are looking for a free blogging platform, Blogger and WordPress are two of the most popular choices at the moment. But I suggest you get your own site for your blog because there’s a free web hosting provider that offers a better deal.

Doteasy is a web host company that offers different hosting packages, from basic hosting up to unlimited hosting. Their free hosting plan provides an ad free site and free web site builders to help you create your site much easier. They also offer a free cPanel control panel to use with your free hosting account which not many free web hosts could actually offer. But what’s even better with Doteasy is that they have an affiliate program where you could earn from $5 up to $70 for every successful referral sign up. You don’t even need to become a customer to join their affiliate program.

Sign up for a free account

They also offer domain name registration services where more than 160,000 domain users have entrusted them. And because of this, they have a current promo right now that lets you register any domain name such as .com, .net, .org for only $4.95 for the first year. To take advantage of this promo, just use the coupon code 0910FWH when signing up.

Hi marlene, we are also setting up a webhosting company, so far puro referrals ng friends pa lang ang customer namin as we are still planning to buy a virtual hosting in the US, we are offering Joomla and WP hosting.. siguro pag mga small time lang like blogs and personal websites we can cater those services, shared pa kasi ang bandwidth though a DS3 backend, we need to assure a secure bandwidth for bigtimes… and we can haddle for the price since starting pa lang… 🙂

That’s a good business. May know-how ka naman sa mga ganyan kaya hindi mahirap sa yo. Maybe you should promote it as soon as you secure the bandwidth. What’s important in this kind of business is your readiness and willingness to help your clients. The customer service should be reliable.

7 years na yung domain ko sa August at 1 year naman ako sa current webhost ko. So far okay naman, didn’t have major problems compared when I was with my old webhost.

Amor, mabuti naman at ok na sa new web host mo. Sakit sa ulo talaga kapag nagkakaproblema ang site dahil lang sa web host, di ba…

Yes. But if you’re happy with your web host, there’s no need to change. 🙂
