Starting a business is not difficult if you have the financial resources and enough time to run it. It is, however, the strategy of promoting your business that requires hardwork and consultant. But if you consider to be listed on a business web directory the chance to be found among the millions of websites in the internet is high. It is like a classified ads page in a newspaper where readers will usually find business enterprises.

Finding the right web directory for your business is another step to be thought of carefully. The knowledge about how an online directory promotes your site should be given prior time learning before signing in. A good business web directory knows the essential ways of promoting a business website, thus showing it in search engines will give you benefits such as:

more visitors and clients activities

increase traffic and sales

gain popularity in search results

There are quite a number of business web directory which some of them you may find alluring. Others may have contacted you to get your site listed but don’t fall prey to such invitations without learning about the site. Unfortunately, not all online directory you find in the internet will give your site the benefits above. On the other hand, jasminedirectory is a business web directory that is definitely beneficial to your site. It’s effective business listing offers the following:

100% SEO friendly – means your site link is optimized for a better search engine results.

W3 CSS and HTML valid – its site passed the quality criteria as a web page.

Automatic thumbnail – it generates thumbnail of your site for visual enhancement.

5 deep URLs – it allows you to submit up to 5 deep links from your site which you deem important.

Having a website for your business is not enough to attract the target clients. But when you get your business listed on a web directory you don’t have to worry about how people will find it. Your concern is just to update it regularly and the visitors will keep coming back.

There used to be a few bloggers’ communities that I joined when I started blogging. I remember the first community that I actively engaged in was MyBlogLog but sad to say, this community was terminated (by Yahoo) in the spring of last year. I met quite a number of bloggers on the said site and most of my first commenters came from there. It was easy to find blogs and blogger friends then. I also joined Blog Catalog and Entrecard and met some bloggers from those communities. I still visit and find interesting blogs there from time to time.

I found new bloggers’ communities lately but I have been skeptical about joining. Some sites seem to be convincing but I don’t particularly like the one that’s offering to query my latest posts for other members to read but my post links are prefixed with their site’s address. It will come out that the post is not from my site but from their own. Ridiculous. There were two sites I discovered having this kind of linking strategy. I’ve become a bit apprenhensive about joining blog communites since I learned about it.

Anyhow, I’m now back to getting active in more communities and recently I joined Fuel My Blog after learning how easy it is to visit other blogs from there. Perhaps you can fuel my blog by voting and giving it a thumbs up, too.

A blog is just out of place if it doesn’t belong to any communities. Through FuelMyBlog, I wish to discover more blogs and bloggers around the world-wide web.

I wonder how impossible it is to recognize ones ringtone and how likely it is to have the same tune with others. If you make a ringtone that’s different from others then you would know if it’s your phone ringing in the public or not. But if you’re using your phone’s signature melody as a ringtone it’s possible that you’re not alone having it. It’s ridiculous when somebody’s mobile phone rings and you’ll see many people around grope in their bags or pockets to see if it’s their mobile phone ringing.

I’ve never had a ringtone that’s similar to others and if it happens I would definitely change it right away. There are a number of sound clips or music that’s included in the phone but most of the time I upload my own mp3 so that I’d know the songs myself. MP3 ringtones take much space in the phone though. It can be a piece of work editing it, like I did with the song, Popcorn, which I wanted to set for hubby’s call. But I was not satisfied with the outcome so I didn’t use it. I will make another try, this time on Mobile 17 to get the right part of the song I want as a ringtone. Making and minding your own ringtone is a way of giving your mobile phone its distinguished identity.

If there’s a social media site that I consider myself totally hooked on, it’s nothing else but Twitter. I update my status on it a couple of times everyday than my other social media accounts. I find Twitter more engaging and I feel like I know what’s happening in the world by reading other people’s tweets. Since I tweet a lot, I am also constantly looking and trying different Twitter apps for my PC and mobile phone. My recent find was the MetroTwit for Windows. I have it installed in my laptop but I have another Twitter client in my PC. I love using MetroTwit though.

This is how it looks in my 15.6 HD LED LCD laptop. I prefered the black background than the light one though. I like its easy and smooth UI, especially checking my other lists’ updates that are not in columns. The ability to view updates from my lists before adding them in my columns is a good feature that I couldn’t find on my other Twitter client. What’s missing, however, in MetroTwit is the option for the users to schedule tweets. Or I’ve just overlooked this feature. The other downside is that it’s still in beta version but fingers crossed the developers will update this to release version. Anyhow, it’s too good to be true for a beta release and I’m loving it!

We get a bunch of survey forms from our real estate owner every year and sometimes it takes weeks before we can send it back. Given a choice, I would prefer to answer free online surveys than a pen and paper form. I wonder why our real estate owner can’t provide us with an online survey when most households acquire a computer with internet nowadays. If we fail to send it back, we get another envelope enclosed with a reminder this time. I can’t help but grumble everytime a thick envelope arrives in my postbox and the common logotype is smiling at me, projecting a message like “hey, here I am again”.

Not only that, I get this old-fashioned survey forms at my work, too. These surveys present the same questions every year. Again, I, oftentimes, forget to hand it in. Once, my employer gave us the entire meeting time to just answer the survey. She might have been tired of waiting or reminding for unreturned forms. I wish the company that provides the survey questionnaire would give us an option to answer and submit it online instead. I check both my private and work emails everyday so there’s no way I’ll miss it, rather than a paper that will just be piled and left untouched.

There are a lot of companies that offer professional and free online surveys around so it will not be a problem to find one that suits the surveyor’s profile. I have stumbled on sites with online polls many times and it’s rather convenient to be able to see the result immediately. As for the pen and paper surveys, we’ll have to wait for months.

It was quite a tough decision to make when hubby thought of moving our websites to another web host. After staying with the same webhosting firm for six years, he said that it was time to find one that would suit our needs. He concluded that it was no longer giving us the service and performance that it used to. I was particularly anxious about what would happen with this blog during the process, knowing the large amount of posts already made. While my mind was focused on the files and all, his was to determine which web host would meet the needs of our sites.

He started searching the net for different web hosts and reading web hosting reviews. With the vast number of web hosting sites nowadays, it’s quite hard to choose which one is the best, if there’s any. It’s too early to tell if he has chosen the best one but the performance has been, so far, satisfactory. And its control panel is easy to navigate, like adding subdomains, creating databases, and the likes.

This website has been online for more than ten years and this is merely the third time we have moved to another webhost. But it was less hassle since we didn’t have a database to transfer but simple files. Now that most of our sites have been turned into blogs with self-hosted WordPress, the database is the vital file to transfer. But as you can see on this blog, all posts and images are still in place, like no moving to another web host has taken place.
