We don’t have any intention of becoming a coin collector nor a numismatist. These coins are what we’ve kept from our travels, mostly on road trips, when we needed loose change for tollgates and small snacks. It seems as though we become coin collectors in the end. But not numismatists since we are not studying about currency and other payment systems. These coins led me to memories when hubby and I traveled for the first time. It was the time when euro wasn’t the currency of many countries in Europe yet, hence these coins from different nations. Some of them are no longer in use these days when the countries later voted for euro.

Can you see which coins belong to what country? These coins are like diamonds, they last forever even when they’re not in use anymore. They may not be as valuable as diamonds are, but the memories and histories behind them are worth a treasure.

These are the coins that’s been replaced by euro: German mark, Italian lire, Austrian schilling and the one from Netherlands.

I’m pretty sure you all know about collecting stamps or like most women do, collecting bags or shoes. I do have quite a number of bags but it’s not something I would have thought of collecting. Sometimes we meet people who have the hobby of collecting things and it so happened that I’ve met one and this person happened to be my boss. She invited us to her place nearly two weeks ago and it was inspiring to see her collection of teapots. So far, she has collected 54 of them. I was wondering how she managed to find a space for them but she has built or has let somebody built a long shelf on the wall and placed the teapots on. Some of them are placed in bookshelves.

collecting teapots

She told us how it all began and I was amazed the same thing happened to me, though not teapots but some kind of a weird collection, if I may describe it. She said it started when somebody gave her a teapot as a present, then followed by other persons and the rest is history, until she’s found herself collecting this thing. Some of them she bought from different places she visited. It’s uncommon type of collection, isn’t it?

I do, I do, I do! I always say ”yes” and ”I do” when Sandra Bullock comes up with a new film. Her charisma is irresistible with her cute but sometimes naughty eyes roll on the big screen. The first movie I saw with her was “While You Were Sleeping” and I became a huge fan after that. And this latest film of her will surely be added to my collections as soon as it’s out on dvd. Is it obvious I’m crazy about her?

“The Proposal” had it’s premiere showing here today but as usual, I did not go and watch it. But I’ve read the critics’ positive review of the film, especially Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock’s chemistry and make this film the best rom-com movie this summer. In the US alone, it reaped $34.1 million after it’s premiere on 19th June, thus topped as the weekend’s no.1 movie. Reading this news just makes me more excited to watch the movie but I’m preoccupied with the things to be prepared and done for our vacation. That’s it.

I wonder how the “make-believe” couple survived their love in the end. And don’t you ever tell me because I’m going to watch the film myself.

I have 13 films of her in my dvd shelf and counting.

This is the first Coca-Cola bottle I remember very well when I was little. The bottle has changed in size and color label through the years, but not the famous contour bottle which was designed by Earl R. Dean in 1915. This means that Coke is older than me, lol! When I was about 7 years old, my aunts would asked me to buy a bottle of Coke in the neighborhood’s little store. It cost only 75¢ then. But the bottles above cost much when hubby and me bought them about 4 years ago or more. It was for some kind of a special event for Coke or something. We thought it would be a good token for the old Coca-Cola bottle. And my little Ted’s been watching peacefully over them.
