Austrian Alps Zoomed In

4 January 2008 By: Marlene10 Comments

Austrian Alps

This part of the Austrian Alps is visible along the highway when driving from Salzburg, Austria to Italy. There are a number of Alps in Europe and the highest is the Mont Blanc between France and Italy. Most of the Alps are in France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. I took this picture while in a car on our first trip to Europe.

The first time I encountered the word Alps was in a can of milk brand in the Philippines, called Alpine! The label was exactly that of the Alps, but the snow was not visible. It was a great experience for me to see the real Alps covered with snow, though haven’t stepped on it yet.

Oh yes, the highest mountain in the world is Mt. Everest. In Europe, they call those great mountain range systems Alps. Wonder if you have climbed up Mt. Everest, Shanker 🙂
