Astrid And Her Pippi

Astrid Lindgren's World
Astrid Lindgren’s World

If you’re familiar with the name Astrid Lindgren then you’ve probably read some of her children’s books that’s been translated to different languages. She was loved not only for being a good writer/author but also for her passion for children. According to her, “one doesn’t need to have a child to write books for children, it’s enough that one was once a child”.

The Astrid Lindgren’s World is the children’s favorite to visit especially in the summer. Children could experience how the stories and settings come to life. It’s actually like a paradise for children whey they feel that they’re being part of Astrid’s stories. Even adults who have read her stories could bring back those memories in a storybook.

Sweden had Astrid Lindgren and Denmark had Hans Christian Andersen but I love Astrid because of her sense of humor showing the innocence yet playfulness of children.
You know that most danish children watched the adventures of Pippi and Emil and I love to watch it over and over again.
Too bad that it wasn’t shown on the Filipino tv because I think it’s better than watching robots or cartoons.

Ana, I wonder why Pippi Longstockings isn’t so popular in the Philippines when it was translated in English. I haven’t even read it myself there but the name was familiar to me when I heard it here.

Yes, it’s one thing the telenetworks should think about – more educational shows for children.

    Mhy,

Ganda naman dyan fren. At least marami pa ring mahilig sa plays. For both adults and kids eh maganda ang play. They will learn to appreciate things in a simple and wholesome way.

Jess, ito nga tuwing summer talaga ang daming tao sa Astrid Lindgren’s World. Nakakatuwa ang mga bata na narerecognize nila ang mga tauhan sa kwento ni Astrid. 🙂

        Mhy,

That’s good. Kasi andami talagang pwedeng matutunan sa plays like good values, proper conduct, atsaka ang mga kids’ plays kasi very funny madalas. 🙂

sounds very interesting. I have never heard of the name before, but I’d like to do some research now and maybe find her books- the ones translated in English.

Farah, the name and her books were not familiar to me, too. But Pippi Longstockings was her most-translated book and loved by many. You should try, it must be good for Daryn and Syabil.

Must be in Europe that her books are widely read. Yes, I witnessed how she was loved when she died 6 years ago. 🙂
