Berlin is one of the cities hubby and I would like to visit again. There are so much to see and to explore aside from shopping and enjoying meals. We were there for a week but it seemed not enough to see all that’s been said about Berlin. Though it was summer it rained almost everyday. However, the sightseeing boats were an alternative to get a quick view of the city.
The boats ran through the Spree river and while sitting there, you’d see beautiful structures, old and new. Some old buildings from the communist time were still being demolished as you can see in the picture.
It was about four years ago when we drove to Berlin so that building must be gone by this time. Think how many sightseeing boats could pass through the river and enjoy the view while on the boat.
Even small yachts could cruise the river and see around Berlin. One of the most exciting views was passing by the Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom). We stayed in a hotel in the city which was across from the back of the cathedral and had this view of the river.
When you travel, do you go riding on a sightseeing boat to see more of a place? Of course not all of the cities we travel may not have this kind of touring around to offer but there are other alternatives I believe.

I didn’t know about these sightseeing boats in Berlin. Seems like a great way to see some great sights at leisure and admire the contrast between the present and the remnants of the past.

Oh, yes, especially if one has a short time to be in a place then the sightseeing boats is a good alternative to see around. But only if a city has a wide river like the Spree in Berlin.

Seasickness is common. I get it, and I am a certified wreck diver. I usually take a product called “Bonine”. It is available at any drugstore, and really works well with no side effects.

That looks like a great way to take in the sites.
