All Coming Back Again

10 January 2010 By: Marlene28 Comments

My holiday break is over and tomorrow I will be in my usual morning struggle to get up, get dressed and catch the bus.  I wish the holiday would be longer, not because I have to get up so early but because of the weather.  It has been prognosed that the temperature will drop to -15°C in the coming days.  Great!  Just in time for school start and when everybody’s back to work, too.  This means I have to be extra earlier than normal in case the buses don’t come on time; further, it takes time to walk on snow or icy ground, hahaa.

not my down jacketI am quite accustomed to checking the temperature every morning before getting something to wear.  But hubby reminded me a few days ago to wear extra layer of warm clothings because there was a news of intense cold in the coming days.  I told him that maybe it’s time to take my down jacket off the storage.  I have not used it for four or five years, thanks to the mild winter seasons we’ve had all those years.  I should remember to hang my down jacket in the hall.  As of this writing, it’s still in the storage.  I don’t really like to wear it because I look like a robot but I’m compelled to for the sake of feeling warm in the cold.  Somehow, I am gratified when I see many robot like-humans walking around, lol!  Sometimes it’s not easy to recognize someone you know wearing this kind of jacket with the hood protecting but almost covering the face from cold wind.

Everything’s coming back again, *sigh*.  It seems like nothing has changed after the old year.  It’s the same routine, rituals, chants, rants and geezz, what more.  So far, the only change I feel for this year is the weather, not for the better but for worse, at least for the time being.  And I want to the days to move fast, even faster to make it better.  Sunrise: 08:50am.  Sunset: 15:48pm.  With this short days, don’t you want rapid changes?  I do…

Sunset at 15:48pm? What a short day! Grabee ang lamig na nga dyan ano, may nakita nga akong mga pix na sobrang kapal na yung mga snow. Pwede bang ihagis nyo dito at ng makapag halo-halo kami, naguumpisa ng uminit dito eh. 😉

Hehee, kung pwede nga lang, ano. Very short talaga pero hindi na masyadong boring compared to November and December months. At least this month ay may nakikita nang araw.

Well at least the days are getting longer as we’ve passed winter solstice. But yeah, some days it’s hard to get out of bed because its so dark.

I’m always checking the minutes or seconds added to a day after winter solstice, but it’s very slow and January’s still dark.

Can I say something. I really want to see your robotic look. Please catch a photo when you wear it. Don’t think I’m doing fun, I know what the cold is because 8 or 9 degree is always equivalent to -15 to us as we generally live in warm environment and here is 12-13 now.

First, I am not proud to show up in a robotic attire, hehee! But I can snap a pic of anybody who looks like a robot in down jacket. Someday.

Second, I presumed you mean 8 or 9 degree Fahrenheit is equivalent to -15 degree Celsius? If you have 13 degree Fahrenheit in your place, that’s about -11 degree Celsius. And that’s not warm at all. Are you sure you live in warm environment?

No I’m not talking about those physic term. Here I mean the coldness I will feel on 5-6 degree Celsius, you will feel the same on -8 or -10 degree Celsius because I live in a warm place that is India and you live much more cold place. That is natural adaption. 🙂

Oh, geez, silly me. I get what you mean now. I will try to get some pics on those cold temperatures especially what we wear. I don’t wear a down jacket when it’s 5-6 degrees here though it’s cold.

wearing the extra layer of warm clothings sure helps to combat the extreme cold weather. cold-dry season is often a problem for many.

    have a great week ahead!

Atleast nabawasan yung lamig..
15°C in the coming days, wooh kailangan na magready..
