A Note To God From Charice

27 May 2009 By: Marlene12 Comments

I got goose bumps when I watched this video of Charice Pempengco performing her first international single, Note To God ,on Oprah.  I couldn’t help it when my tears just ran down my face till the end of the song and saw how the audience and Oprah herself gave her a standing ovation.  Her voice is amazingly strong and powerful.  She is lucky to have given the priviledge to record this song of Diane Warren, one of the world’s most prominent composers (There You’ll Be, Because You Loved Me, Unbreak My Heart, and more).

It’s always a delight when I hear news about Charice and the fact that she’s a Filipina who have come a long way in her career as a singer outside Philippines makes me even more prouder.  Barely two years ago, I heard about a Filipina who was doing a demo-recording  for a music company in Stockholm.  I didn’t realize then that it was her until I saw her on Oprah for the first time performing Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You.  Then everything has changed for her after she did a duet with the big time singers in the world such as Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli and David Foster.  Soon she will appear in her first Hollywood film as one of the casts of Alvin and the Chipmunks.  Imagine how great that is for Charice and the Filipino people.

I wish I could sing like her, too. But what can we do? We don’t have that gift, lol!

Thanks for the visit and for consoling.

I love Charice and look at her now. Very famous and her handlers are superstars. She was supposed to win the contest of which that more favoured Sam Concepcion won. But because they more likely favoured Sam because of his good looks but no voice.

Yes, Charice is more successful now than that boy, Sam. Sometimes we can’t trust how the local shows run the game.

Philmor, I think Charice has an attitude, too. I’m sure she can keep her feet on the ground.

Btw, thanks for dropping by. I appreciate it so much.

I too had goose bumps and not just that, butterflies in stomach pa ate My.

Ganda talaga ng voice ni Charice. Si Oprah kulang nalang eh sumabog sa amaze. Like others, I hope hindi nga lumaki ang ulo ni Charice (though mukhang malaki talga ang ulo nya ha, hehe!) – tama yung advice ni Oprah, put your feet still on the ground 😉

Pano kaya kung i-tandem sila ni Hannah Montana noh? Haha! Who do you think will get the crowd? Hmmm…

Oo,sana nga di lumaki ang ulo nya. Hehee! Ikaw talaga, bilog din kasi ang mukha nya kaya parang malaki din ang ulo. Di ko pa narinig kumanta yang Hannah Montana pero sabi ng isang stude ko di naman daw kagandahan ang boses niya.
