A Headache is such a Headache

headache emoticon from Microsoft ClipartThis unpleasant moment when headaches attack without cautions. If only I knew when it would come I would make a shield against it. Worse is when it stays for days and no aspirin can take it away. I’ve had this headache since yesterday, thought I caught colds but I found out later that I didn’t. It was just plain headache that seems to like my head, seeking comfort while it’s giving me uncomfort. It was gone this morning but I felt it again after breakfast. I took an aspirin and lay in bed hoping it would go away when I’d wake up. But I couldn’t sleep either because of the bothering pain. It wasn’t severe though, so I just let it through. I still have a headache now but it’s tolerable.

I suspected it was caused by a bad air passage in the classroom yesterday when it suddenly got sunny outside. I should have opened a window at least. In an hour or so, I could feel the headache but I tried to ignore it. Driving home was so uneasy but glad I made it.

One annoying consequence of a headache is destructing a plan or routine. I had plans for this day but those were left undone. I should have done already my weekend cleaning but even this was kept on hold. Anyhow, tomorrow might be a no-headache day, hopefully. I may not be able to do all my plans but I will be happy if the headache is gone.

Get well soon Mhy!. I can relate coz lately I’ve been getting headaches too, maybe it has something to do with my eyes. Kaya nga mas madalas na akong gumamit ng eyeglass ngayon.

I also notice na kapag nalipasan ako ng gutom sumasakit ulo ko, diba dapat tiyan muna? :)

Thank you, Amor. Hahaa! At first I thought gutom lang din yun kasi gutom talaga ako. Pero tumagal ng tatlong araw.

Sorry to hear about your headache. I usually suffer from headaches if I worry a lot about something the previous day or if I sleep too little or too much or even after an occasional afternoon nap. Whenever I feel mild signs of a headache coming on, I quickly pop a couple of headache pills before the pain increases even further.

I must have worried about something but didn’t know what, Jean. I took aspirin, too, but it didn’t help at all. Though the headache just disappeared after a couple of days.

  • What I do to get relief from this is- Just leave all our work, close your eyes, tight some calf or hankie around your head and site or lie down to bed and calm your mind and stay in same situation for atleast 30 min as it depends on your headache.

And than when your wake up you will feel relaxed.

Thank you for sharing this. I haven’t done this but it sounds relaxing. It’s good to try something new when medicines don’t work.

ugg I know how that goes. I used to get Migraines all the time. The worst is driving home with the oncoming traffics headlights. The light is murder on your eyes and head. I used to take meds when I got them. It could get so bad I couldn’t eat or anything but lay in a dark room and hope it would just go away.
