Top Droppers And A Warning

Dropping my Entrecard is a little favor that I’ve come up with for myself these past few days, especially when I was tired from work and couldn’t think of something to write. I haven’t been a consistent dropper myself but I am constantly becoming one. To be deadly serious is kind of hard for me to achieve considering the time I spend to juggle between work and blog.

As far as I can remember, this is only the second time I post about my top ten EC droppers. Somehow, I am overwhelmed to get a drop back from some blogs I consider most visited and commented, in other words, blogs that gain popularity in which way ever. At the same time, I am also disappointed with a blog (it’s only one!) whose owner has never ever dropped a single click on mine despite my effort to drop on her a couple of times. You are my landsman and we almost have the same category/niche on Entrecard, yet, you snobbed me. Hah! Beh! Snob you back, lol!

Anyway, here are my Top Ten Droppers for the month of January:

I know I have some regular visitors who have dropped their EC cards here that I unintentionally have not dropped back yet. I’ll have to dig in my inbox to find your cards and drop my card soon.

Here comes the warning!

It wasn’t long time ago that a friend blogger, Maricris, posted about how her computer (or laptop?) caught a kind of virus while dropping her card, thus she needed to clean it up. I was, in a way, alarmed and asked hubby to install his newfound anti-virus program which he’s had it running in the other PC. It wasn’t in vain to have this AVAST running in my PC as it did a great job to warn me, while dropping my EC, that a malware was about to be downloaded and AVAST was asking me to abort it before it would be downloaded and installed completely. It happened the other day and today, and the same card that I got warned for something harmful and malicious.

Entrecard no. 13360 – may I remind you that for two times dropping my card on your site, I got warned about a malware which anyone visiting your site could have or be downloaded unawarely. Fortunately, I got you blocked by my AVAST. I am not accusing you of internet misdemeanour whatsoever as you might have been unaware of this malware yourself. However, I feel the need to warn other droppers of your site and the damage it may cause their PC.

Joy, pareho kaya tayong minsan lang mag-drop? Hehee!
I’m not familiar about McAfee, but my AVAST anti-virus is warning me whenever a malware is detected in a site. This way, there’s no way it could get in my PC.

Thanks for the warning…I never thought that such virus can also be acquired via EC. I hope the EC people will check on it.

I don’t have EC but I can relate on the Avast warning hehe. Maganda nga sya no? because it tells you kaagad na may virus or malware yung site na pinupuntahan mo. Tapos libre pa.

Oo nga, Amor. Hubby’s kind of snob to other virus software dahil nakakapaghina ng takbo ng pc. But when he found AVAST, he didn’t have second thoughts. We’re using the free version din.

Hi Marlene, I’m very concerned after reading your post. Now the question is – how can I find out who is EC 13360? Thanks for your advice. :-) Angie

Angie, thanks for dropping by. You can find the card no. when you place your cursor on a card and look on the bottom left of your browser.

I have stopped dropping EC from my laptop permanently. Hubby MADE SURE I don’t! I have to reformat my laptop completely. Starting from zero more or less. It is such an awful experience. The only reason, I did EC was to gain more exposure and meet more bloggy friends but unfortunately, I have to resort to other venues. Yes EC does help with your “visitor” rsnking but it also hikes up your BOUNCED rate! Not really good. I’m surviving inspite of the lack of EC drops. I still have the widget for the sake of having it. Fortunately, my subscription is growing inspite of not dropping EC. Salamat sa Dyos! :)

Maricris, I didn’t know you’ve stopped dropping EC because of the virus. But it’s for your laptop’s protection so no worry. Yes, there are other ways to invite visitors to our blog.
