Sit Glued To The Tube

I can’t believe I still have this bulky and awkward TV set when here comes the elegant and space-saver flat ones taking over most household appliances.  I told hubby once we should get that wide-screen flat TV but he said the good old one’s not damaged or broken yet.  Now, anyone could tell me how to break it or should I smash it hard so it would break into pieces.  Although hubby and I don’t watch TV regularly, we would find ourselves sitting glued to it watching films in the weekends or when we’re both off work.  And the worst habit that I may have formed constantly is that I can’t have my cup of coffee anywhere but in front of the TV.   It would have been more a movie house-atmosphere if I had a 52-inch LCD-TV.  Dream on!

I remember way back in Davao where I used to watched the evening soap operas.  I used to be the queen of Filipino soap operas, weeping like a poor lamb in front of the tube.  In a way, I miss the Filipino TV series no matter how far-fetched or predictable they would be.  Unfortunately, I don’t have those international Filipino channels except when I purchase a so-called cable TV.  But the price is unreasonably high for a channel.  However,  there is another way of viewing some Filipino channels and it’s quite affordable for me.  It’s my first time to learn about this DirectTV that offers a wide variety of international channels, including Filipino channels.  I was browsing all the programs on DirectTV a while ago and found these interesting offers.  But before I get addicted to soap operas again, I should have a flat LCD TV first.  If not, I will be sitting glued to the fat tube forever.

Filipino channels

And most interestingly, I can watch films on Direct TV anytime I want. Hubby and I love films but we often go to movie theatres. Now we can enjoy watching those films we missed at a fair cost.
