Back To Work Dilemma

morning tirednessGoing back to work after a long break or vacation is something I don’t look forward to, at least not now when this winter coldness and darkness pulls me back to slumber in the early morning hours.  I completely feel that the party is over and now it’s time to face seriously the reality again.  Ugh!  My dilemma is whether to call in sick and pretend and enjoy extra day of laziness, or force myself to work and disguise tiredness with a lousy smile.  This is a plaguing situation.  This New Year is not giving me any change.  What has changed is just the number of years, but the days are just the same.  Why can’t we have a different situation when New Year comes, like waking up the next day in a satin sleepwear and breakfast in bed has just being served by a uniformed maid, lol!  Keep dreaming!

But guess which options did I take today.  Awakened by the music in my alarm clock, I got up and went to work instead.  Forget about the fantasies and dreams, this is what my life is, my reality.  Anyhow, it feels good to start the year right.  This is the time I need to be strong.  To fight the dilemma is not easy however.  But the will to do what’s right is the best weapon I’ve had.

I slept and dreamed that life was beauty. I woke and found that life was duty.

…and that’s why I opted for part time instead of full time! I used to drag myself out of bed too in the mornings when I was working full time. It used to be OK when I haven’t got my children yet, but since I had my first child, I was getting really little sleep in the night, so, waking up early in the morning was such a torture for me.

Farah, I’d do the same if I have children. It’s not easy to work when you lack sleep the night before. It feels like you’re walking on air or floating.

Oh no…speaking of going back to work. I’ll be going back tomorrow! I feel like I’ve been on leave forever. I was off from the 18th till the 29th. Went back for two days, then fell sick and was off for a week again! Hehehe It’s gonna take me a while to get back in the game!
