The Change I Needed

I couldn’t think of sidebar contents to fill in the spaces left after my adsense was disabled.  I needed to change my theme since those spaces were customized primarily for adsense in my previous theme.  My apology to Amor dear for such a short time I used the theme.  I didn’t want to modify the theme any further just to make sure that no adsense code was left on my blog.  Maybe when I have enough time I will try to modify it, especially the “single page” because it was there the big blank space was.  Anyhow, I liked how her theme worked on my blog and I never thought I had to change it this soon.

It was one decision that led to another, actually.  After modifying this theme I thought I might as well upgrade my WordPress from 2.8.4 to version 2.9.  It wasn’t my plan to upgrade yet because I find the backing-up of database so tedious.  But hubby has found a way to back-up through our web host (GoDaddy) account.  It was faster than I thought and I’m happy about the successful upgrade, no problems, whatsoever.

This is the theme I found attractive to me and this is actually the second theme I’ve been using from same author.  The Cloisters have designed several WordPress Themes.  I’ve always checked the site for new themes because everytime it comes up a new one, it’s always different from the previous ones, though not all themes might everybody like but they are created with various designs.  In fact, I am using another theme from Cloisters on my Digiscrapping site (not updated regularly though).  I assure you that this theme is not a modification of that theme because of their different designs.

This is the original color of the theme but hubby thought it looked melancholic and asked me to change the color into something alive (and kicking, lol!). And green and brown were the only colors I could come up with. I got those colors from my previous themes I modified a long time ago. After trying the brown-light brown scheme, still he thought it a bit boring. So I ended up with green, the same green I had about two years ago. I’m not completely done adding all the pages but I’m doing it one step at a time. Honestly, this is not what I should be doing on my holidays.

Blogging Must Go On

I have done contemplating, analyzing, even grumbling about my Adsense account being disabled all of a sudden.  I tell you, it isn’t a welcome sight when you visit your site with some elements totally blank one morning.  The worst is when you check your email and find out from a reliable sender the cause of the empty spaces in your site.  Yes, you heard me right – my Adsense account has been disabled since 22nd December, just so you know why my Google ads spaces went blank.

addisabled

I had no idea how this small site could pose a risk to advertisers and other publishers when I haven’t even got a single cent after running Adsense for four years.  I even seldom check my account and as far as I can remember, my earnings have only reached $42 the last time I peeked on it which was about two months ago.  I don’t know how much it was when the account was disabled.  I have done all the readings about this situation and I’m not hoping anymore for a reinstatement.

When I clicked the link to submit an appeal it led me to a page where it explains why the account was disabled.  It’s about invalid clicks, redirecting, requesting someone to click your ads, blah, blah.  And did I perform invalid clicks on my own ads?  Request someone to click my ads?  Not that I remember.  I admit I was tempted to click an ad but that was a long time ago and I didn’t do it again because I was completely aware of this “clicking” policy.  I visited the forums site to get a clear view of the matter and somehow, my sadness had alleviated when I found out that I was not alone in the clamour against this act.

Well, what can I do more?  Blogging must go on.  If I am a victim of click bombing, I don’t know yet.  And if there’s somebody doing this to my sites must be a glad nitwit by now.  I won’t be lurking or sobbing because of this.  Well, not forever, just a couple of days more.  Adsense makes my heart grow fonder?  Hardly.  I better finish reading “The Lost Symbol” (by Dan Brown) than pondering over my lost Adsense.

Merry Christmas, World!

Christmas is finally here and no matter how disastrous the year has been we celebrate it with thoughts of love as we always do.  This once a year-holiday seasons is always the much anticipated celebration of all celebrations in the Christian community around the world.  And it is not for the sake of Christmas itself but for the birth of Christ.  May you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas 2009
Hohohoo! What do you think of my greetings card? Hmm?  My Santa Sleigh is not carrying gifts but a pot of poinsettia.  Well, it’s the year of economic downfall so… But don’t you like poinsettia?  It’s the Christmas flower or Christmas star.  I won’t mind if Santa will give me a garden full of this flower.  I love it!
