Let’s Be Friends, Smarty!
Hejaaa! Smart bloggers out there, let’s be friends cos I have some awards for you. Hahaa! Who do I think I am to just want smart bloggers as friends when I’m in fact, a dummy-dum-dumb. But I’m glad there’s a smart person on the blogosphere to say I’m smart, a smart blogger that’s to say. And another smart one, too, who want’s to be my friend. Well, actually, we’ve been blogger-friends for quite some time now. These two people have passed these awards on me and I’m grateful they did but I’m also feeling guilty it took so long before I could post this. Anywy, better late than never, lol!
Let’s be friends award from Rozella

Smart Blogger award from Ana

Ana says, “because you are my only Scandinavian neighbor and you show the rest of the Filipino communities that by learning the language of your new host country you can be fully integrated into the system and find a job that you love like teaching. I also admire that you teach the Filipino language in Sweden that’s tough. Go girl!! You’re smart because you still find time to acknowledge and visit your blogger friend by commenting in their blog.”
Through these awards, I want to thank Hobo, Joey Logano Fan and Ruchi for the visits and comments. You’re all smart because you visit my blog, hahaa! But go visit the blogs of these people and you will see how smart they are. And while you’re there you would say, let’s be friends, smarty!
A Note To God From Charice
I got goose bumps when I watched this video of Charice Pempengco performing her first international single, Note To God ,on Oprah. I couldn’t help it when my tears just ran down my face till the end of the song and saw how the audience and Oprah herself gave her a standing ovation. Her voice is amazingly strong and powerful. She is lucky to have given the priviledge to record this song of Diane Warren, one of the world’s most prominent composers (There You’ll Be, Because You Loved Me, Unbreak My Heart, and more).
It’s always a delight when I hear news about Charice and the fact that she’s a Filipina who have come a long way in her career as a singer outside Philippines makes me even more prouder. Barely two years ago, I heard about a Filipina who was doing a demo-recording for a music company in Stockholm. I didn’t realize then that it was her until I saw her on Oprah for the first time performing Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You. Then everything has changed for her after she did a duet with the big time singers in the world such as Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli and David Foster. Soon she will appear in her first Hollywood film as one of the casts of Alvin and the Chipmunks. Imagine how great that is for Charice and the Filipino people.

Evergreen – Statue of Liberty StandsA poem by: Ranganathan Parthasarathy of India
Ranganathan wrote this poem when he and his wife visited the Statue of Liberty for the first time.
It must be that one in New York which gave him an overwhelming sight of the statue that prompted him to create the poem, which reflects his feelings and thoughts about life and freedom. I, on the other hand, saw this little one in Paris and it was dark and cold that I couldn’t even see her face. Look what I got for a photo. The back of the Statue of Liberty! I stared at this photo and see if I could create a poem myself. But the thoughts I could come up with my sentiments right now is – Liberty, where are you? I need you to be free from tough days of workloads and worries.
