32 Days To Spring

This is what I read in the newspaper’s weather prognose page this morning:
The day has been lengthened by 1 hour and 20 minutes in the morning, and 1 hour and 53 minutes in the evening since the winter solstice ( on December 22).
Sunrise 07:37 am
Sunset 17.19 pm

Yipee! My mind screamed silently and I know I had the reason to be glad. No more dark mornings and dark afternoons in a week or so.  Spring will soon take over.

I wasn’t completely awake when I heard my radio set alarmed-clock playing music that my senses couldn’t recognized a piece of the tune.  I tried to be awake even if my eyes were still shy to see the darkness of the room.  It was 5:50am and I was still lying in bed.  The thought about catching the bus at seven reminded me to get up, when I heard the DJ mumbling about the days before springtime ~ 32 days to Spring.  This couldn’t be serious. Thirty-two days is way too long when it’ll be March in 10 days.  The winter will more likely to extend its rage and will continue to blow cold everywhere.  I disliked what I heard from the radio much as I had to rise from the bed.  My unending complaint about the weather is driving me nuts at times.  However hard it was, I got up with the number 32 in my head.  I looked outside and saw the white freezing ground and roofs.  The temperature showed -7C°.  And asked, “would it be like this for 32 more days?”  It’s something left for me to survive through.

Winter dies into the spring, to be born again in the autumn.

The First Lady Loves Fashion

If I had to choose between shopping for clothes and shopping for shoes, I’d choose the former.  I admit I don’t like spending too much for shoes than I do with clothes.  I also know  there are a lot of women who can’t skip a month without having new pair of shoes.  But in my own view, it’s a waste of money under my feet.  Although I have this craze for clothes, I’m not sure if I like fashion.  I’m not that fashionista when it comes to clothing myself.  What I consider most with my taste for style is that it fits me and I look good wearing it.

Michelle Obama on Vogue

Now that’s just something about my endearing passion for clothes.  What I really intend to write is about the First Lady of America being on the cover of Vogue.  She looks so simple yet adorable in the pic.  But not the clothes.  I think it’s too dark for her.  If it was a bit lighter, probably, it would reveal and blend her color beautifully. Though she said she loved fashion she’s not to blame for the color of this dress but her fashionista who dressed her up for this purpose. And read what she said about clothes and fashion. “I love clothes. First and foremost, I wear what I love. That’s what women have to focus on: what makes them happy and what makes them feel comfortable and beautiful. If I can have any impact, I want women to feel good about themselves and have fun with fashion.” I love these words and I should say that she is witty in all aspects.

My Funny Valentine

I’m glad I’m not out today cos my weather station shows -4.5°C, too cold that could turn my cheek as rosy as a medium steaked veal.  The fact that it’s Friday the 13th makes me more grateful to just be staying inside to avoid the abracadabra, which according to many, the day brings.  Thanks to my soon-to-end winter break.

Is it Valentine yet?  I didn’t realize that Valentine’s Day falls on a weekend.  Hubby and I would normally go out for a dinner on Valentine’s Day.  Restaurants and other dining places usually are fully-booked on this day but much more on a weekend when everybody wants to be somewhere after a week’s job.  So we can’t just barge in and say, “we need a table for two, please”.  We had actually done this many times until we got declined due to full reservations.  That was two years ago and I remember we walked our way into the cold to find any restaurant nearby.  And the prize of it was the Resto Inferno.  I couldn’t imagine anyone using the word inferno in whatever purpose but this resto got the hell in it’s name but nevertheless with a  heavenly ambience.  I would love to dine there again but absolutely not on a weekend.  We’re planning for a cosy home dinner instead, don’t know how and what yet.  Any suggestions?

Spreading Love All Over The World
Before I go plan for a Valentine dinner I’d like to spread the love first through this tag I got from Joy of Words of Love. Thanks a lot dearie for sprinkling me love with this tag. There’s no rule but to post this Bible verse and see what Valentine reminds you about.
