Painted On Cloth

This beautiful scenario is actually painted on cloth to be used as a wall decor or a wall painting. It is 1.5m x 1m in size, perfect in the hallway or in the living room. A frame would hide the edges of the cloth and make it look like a painting hanging on the wall.

An artwork of a typical Filipino artist, the painting portrays a classic bay village in the Philippines by sunset. It’s the time of the day when the villagers take refuge from the approaching real dark night. I remember a scene like this, though not in a bay, when my grandmother used to shout our names to convince us to get inside the house before 6pm. She would tell us that “unseen” people which we used to refer to as “not like us” would start joining us at that particular hour and they could be mean sometimes. That’s why the surroundings would look like this painting, harmless and serene.

What a gorgoues painting, is it painted on silk? My mother-in-law is trained in silk paintings, and our house is filled with the pictures she does of my kids, birds and silk scarves.

Ada, it’s not actually silk. It’s thicker kind of fabric and smooth. I wish I could explain better. Silk painting must be difficult. Your MIL must be creative, too.

    Mhy,

Gumagawa kami ng ganyan fren pero mahirap. may silkscreen at iba pang klase ng business ako dito. mahirap gawin yan dahil multi-setup. kung painting yan using the hands lamang eh mas lalo pang mahirap. first the right paint and cloth should be used (maraming trial and errors yan), the right environment should be tested to work with the paint (himidity, moisture and temprature pinagaaralan din dahil iba’t iba ang reactions ng paint sa mga ganitong factors) and the right hands should do the painting or else the outcome will be a mess. lol!

Jess, nabili namin to from hubby’s bro who bought plenty of this from somewhere in Luzon. Para ibenta din dito. Di pa nga namin nai-frame, hehee. Parang ang hirap nga gawin. Aba, may business ka palang painting, magaling yan fren.

Last year sa Robinson’s Manila may nakita kaming nag pi-paint sa t-shirt, Manila bay sunset ata yun. Ang dami ngang tumitigil para panoorin sila. Ang galing ng mga kamay nila no! Katulad ng pic mo sa taas, it’s really impressive.

That’s a lovely painting. I love the way the light seems to come from behind the trees, illuminating them from the back.

Joy, bagay talaga ang ganitong paintings sa bahay. Baka meron pala diyang mga ganito. Dito kasi hirap humanap ng may ganyang motive.
