Summer Solstice

Summer Solstice 2008
Yesterday was Midsummer Day and a holiday here, but this celebration hasn’t been so festive as the day before which is called the Midsummer Eve. It’s a celebration of dance around a flower-decorated pole, while the dancers wear a summer wreath on the head. But I’m not keen on that cos there’s something I always look forward to on midsummer day – the summer solstice – the longest day and shortest night happens. I always took a picture of how bright it is at 10.00-11.00 in the evening. This time, I was lucky cos no rain and I even captured a lone bird in the bright sky.
Pleadin’ Pleading Bleeding Love
I’ve been hearing a song from the radio which I thought I should look for the title of it in the internet. But the thought of doing it always slip my mind everytime I sit in front of my computer. Today, while I was acting Mary Poppins in the kitchen and polishing the windowpane, I heard this song again. I listened until it came to what it sounded like the chorus of the song. Then I stopped what I was doing and googled the words, “pleadin’ in love”, as what I heard the lyric was. I’ve done this many times and I never failed so far, but this time seems to be an exceptional. The search results failed and I couldn’t find anything that could match the song. But Google is kind enough to suggest, “did you mean: pleading love?”. So I clicked the phrase instead and found something funny and that I can prove I wasn’t the only one fooled by the chorus of the song. It must be the earwax, hahahaa!
I was led to a link on Yahoo! Answers where somebody asked the title and singer of the song:
Asker:
I keep pleading…keep keep pleading love….help! who sings this song?? and what’s the title?? thanks.Answerer:
The song is Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis. She’s actually saying, “I keep bleeding”![]()
Asker:
omg…thanks!! yeah, i just realize it’s “bleeding”…not “pleadin”….silly me!
Silly me, too! I thought all the time it was “pleadin’ in love”. This reminds me of what my Aunt had related to me a long, long time ago when somebody went to the records store and bought a vinyl single record of the song titled “Turn me loose”. The sales agent looked for the record diligently but couldn’t find it and later gave up the searching. He asked that “somebody” instead to sing part of the song and without hesitation, he sang, “Turn me loose…on the high…let me flyyyy to distant lands”. That was the intro of the song and the sales agent got exactly what it was. When “somebody” went out of the store, he scratched his head when he saw that the title of the song was, “Skyline Pigeon”.

Catching Up On ALF
I must be one of the few who missed this TV-sitcom on Alf in the late 80′s. Alf, as what his earth family calls him, started the first season in 1986, to be exact, until 1990. I was then in my high school years and I don’t remember which soap opera I used to watch. All I can remember was the People Power that ousted the former president, lol! Those four years were kind of blur to me when it comes to soap opera or sitcoms. But I do remember I used to watch Little House on the Prairie when I was little.
And how did Alf get into my evening pass time? Hubby is the mastermind of this plot, when he purchased online the four-season-dvd of Alf. He said he’d watched the sitcom before but missed some episodes on the final season. I have no choice but to welcome this hilarious character steal my time in the evening in front of the big monitor now that it’s summer holiday. No problem! I’m actually loving every episode of Alf and his ludicrous one-liners. It’s one tv-sitcom to watch when I want to set my brain in stand-by mode (if only we can do this), think nothing but watch and laugh on this so-called bubbly alien life form, hah! hah!… Oh, I kill me!
